Completion of two classrooms at Ado-Ekiti Grammar School
By Sunday Awosoro.
In 2019, Hon. Oladimeji Sunday, former federal lawmaker representing Ado/Irepodun-Ifelodun nominated the construction of two blocks of classrooms at Ado Grammar School, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti state. Placed under the supervision of the Nigerian Building & Road Research (NBRRI), the N16 million project was titled “COMPLETION OF 2-CLASSROOMED BLOCK IN ADO EKITI CENTRAL SCHOOL (ADO GRAMMER SCHOOL) ADO EKITI: ADO/IREPODUN/IFELODUN FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY, EKITI STATE”.
Upon visitation in March 2023, UDEME found out that the project had been completely executed. The classrooms are seen, prominently standing out among others. It is built with bricks, has a blue roof, windows and doors. It is the only “built-together” two blocks of classrooms found within the school compound. Others were built in fours and fives by the State Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB.

Since we visited during the school holidays, we could not meet with the school principal. We tried to reach her via a telephone call however, she said she was at a church programme.
Speaking with the security officer of the school who simply identified himself as Baba Marose, he said that he saw the abandoned construction when he began to work for the school in 2009. It was, however, only completed in 2019 and the school has since been making use of it.
