By Bulmun Dakwal

It is always a happy and exciting moment in the Kwapkuwa community whenever the people come together, they are known for their loving and peaceful nature in the community but sadly they have one thing missing, a health facility. They have encountered tragic situations of loss of loved ones due to lack of a health clinic in the community.

The project which was nominated by a lawmaker, Mr. Komsol Alphansus was allocated a budget of 25 million naira under the Federal College of Veterinary and Medical Laboratory Technology for construction of Plateau Health Care clinic in Kwapkuwa, Shandam, Plateau State.

In an interview with a resident, Mrs. Rita Danladi, said, “We always have to go to the next community to get medical attention and we have to look for either a bike man or a car which takes over thirty minutes sometimes before we can get one, it’s really challenging especially when you have an emergency”

Speaking to the youth leader of the community, Mr. Bidas Stephen, said, “We are happy the government has listened to our cry and is building this health clinic for us, we hope that it gets completed on time and bring an end to our suffering”

The project started in the month of November 2022 but came to a stop in February 2023 because of the 2023 election. The residents are hopeful for the successful completion of this project before the year runs out.
